This book makes an important contribution to the discussion on the nature and impact of current processes of regionalization and globalization. Based on extensive research, a study is made of the clashing transnational positions and lobbies, and of the changes in Mexicoís environmental policy. NGOís criticism on Mexicoís weak enforcement of environmental policy could not be ignores or silenced in the NAFTA debate. In the end, a supplemental environmental agreement was addes to the trade agreement : a unique event.
