Ruud Pleune explores in this book the strategies of five Dutch environmental organizations, and how they campaign on ozone depletion, acidification and climat change.
He concludes that the strategies of these organizations are determined by the way these three issues are viewed by society. Thus, Dutch environmental organizations do not have their own distinct roles. He further suggests that cognitive involvement in environmental issues may help natureoriented organizations to utilize their insights and peopleĆs social consciences to benefit the environment.
This book makes an important contribution to understanding environmental strategies. The study concentrates on Dutch groups, bus the conclusions are relevant thoughout the world. |
